This tool is available for reference purposes only and does not conclusively determine if your facility is legally obligated to report TRI data to EPA under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).
This tool includes links to information about exemptions that, if applicable, may result in a facility's calculated quantities being under thresholds, but the tool does not incorporate the exemptions into its calculations.
The use of this tool does not satisfy the EPCRA ยง313(g)(2) reporting requirements) to use readily available data or, where such data are not readily available, make reasonable estimates. Nor does use of this tool satisfy the recordkeeping requirements of 40 CFR. 372.10.
EPA has made its best effort to present a basic but accurate summary of applicable TRI thresholds for the current reporting year. Note, however, that this tool is not intended to incorporate every detail or nuance of the TRI reporting requirements. Additionally, in the event that this tool deviates from the regulations at 40 CFR part 372 and explanations in EPA guidance materials, the regulations and guidance materials prevail.
